How to Vote

The regular voter registration deadline for the June 2 primary election was May 18, 2026.

Voters who missed the deadline can still register and vote through California's Same Day Voter Registration process. This option is also available for voters who need to update their registration information.

To use Same Day Voter Registration, complete a voter registration application online and bring your confirmation or registration receipt to your county elections office or a voting location.

Mail Ballot Drop Boxes

Vote-by-mail ballots may be returned at secure ballot drop boxes throughout San Bernardino County.

Outdoor ballot drop boxes are open now through 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2.

San Bernardino countywide races

There are a handful of countywide races impacting Redlands voters on the primary ballot in June including San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, San Bernardino County Sheriff and San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller.

San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools 
This is a nonpartisan race and there are no incumbents. Candidates can win outright with a majority of the vote. If no candidate receives a majority, the top two vote-getters advance to the November 3 general election.

San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller / Treasurer / Tax Collector

The San Bernardino County Assessor-Recorder and District Attorney races are uncontested this year.

City Council

What's the job: A Redlands city council member is responsible for setting policy priorities, passing ordinances, shaping the city's long-term vision and representing the community's interests.

The council provides oversight on municipal services, budgets and directs the city manager, who oversees day-to-day operations in the city.

The City Council is made up of five representatives chosen to represent their districts. City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. (closed session) and 6:00 p.m. (open session) at the City of Redlands, City Council Chambers, 35 Cajon Street. On the ballot: Redlands City Council seats for Districts 1, 3 and 5 are up for election on Nov. 3, 2026.

School Board

What's the job: The Redlands Unified School District Board of Education sets policies, oversees the district budget and works with the superintendent to guide the direction of local schools. Board members represent students, families and the community while helping ensure schools meet state and federal requirements.

According to the district, board priorities include academic achievement, fiscal responsibility, attracting and retaining quality employees, and creating opportunities for all students to participate fully.

Candidates must live in the trustee area where they are running. Board members serve four-year terms.

On the ballot: Redlands Unified School Board of Trustee seats for areas 1 and 2 are up for election on Nov. 3, 2026.
