The Classic returns to Redlands this weekend: What to know before you go

REDLANDS, Calif. — The 2025 Redlands Bicycle Classic kicks off this week, drawing elite cyclists from around the world for five days of racing in Redlands, Highland, and Mentone. As the longest continuously running professional stage race in the United States, the Classic blends world-class athleticism with family-friendly community events and public rides.
This year’s competition runs from Wednesday, April 9, through Sunday, April 13, with preliminary meetings and registration on Tuesday.
Registration Now Open
Registration is available for a variety of events open to the public, including family-friendly races and competitive junior stage events:
- Legends’ Fondo - Non-competitive rides with routes from 22 to 70 miles
- Junior Stage Races – Competitive racing for youth and teens
- Public Races with School Duel - Kids’ races for ages 3-17 downtown. In person registration begins at 7 a.m. on April 12 in the Citrus parking lot lower level. Race schedule here.
- 5K and/or Family Fun Walk - A three-lap downtown walk/run on Sunday morning.
Vendor Village in Downtown Redlands

Visitors are encouraged to head downtown on Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13, to experience the Community Alliance Medical Group’s Downtown Vendor Village. The Vendor Village will showcase local handmade artisans, small businesses, and food vendors offering everything from donuts and coffee to slushies and desserts. You’ll also find information booths, swag giveaways, service clubs, local breweries, interactive kids’ booths, event merchandise and the Community Corporate Sponsor Showcase.
Whether you're cheering on cyclists or just enjoying the atmosphere, there's something for the whole family.

🏁 What is a Stage Race?
Men and women professional teams will complete in five days of racing. A stage race is a multi-day cycling competition where riders compete in different formats—time trials, road races, and criteriums—on successive days. The overall winner is determined by cumulative time across all stages, rewarding consistency, endurance, and strategy.

Road closures in Redlands begin Friday, April 11, at 5 p.m. with Citrus Avenue closed between Orange Street and Seventh Street. Additional full-day and partial closures continue through Sunday.
