Stolen merchandise recovered in semi-truck; police report DUI arrests

REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands police recovered more than $100,000 in stolen merchandise after discovering a suspicious semi-truck parked near the intersection of Texas Street and Domestic Avenue late Monday night, Dec. 8, authorities said.
Officers determined the tractor had been reported stolen out of Fresno. An attached trailer was filled with merchandise valued at more than $100,000, police said. The California Highway Patrol’s cargo theft task force was contacted and assumed control of the investigation.
Hit-and-run damages West Redlands business
In a separate incident late Friday night, Dec. 5, officers responded to a hit-and-run collision after a vehicle struck a business in the 400 block of West Redlands Boulevard. Police said the suspect vehicle was traveling east when it collided with a parked vehicle in front of 501 W. Redlands Blvd., then continued out of control into the northwest corner of Queens Jewelers.
Witnesses reported seeing the driver flee on foot. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the driver. The city’s building inspector responded to assess damage to the structure, police said.
Traffic stop leads to drug, firearm-related arrest
Early Wednesday morning, Dec. 10, officers arrested a man for possession of methamphetamine and display of an imitation firearm following a traffic stop on Lincoln Street at Colton Avenue. Police said the driver reached into the glovebox during the stop, prompting officers to take him into custody after spotting the imitation firearm. He was later cited and released. The firearm was booked into evidence.
DUI arrests reported in multiple collisions
Early Wednesday morning, Dec. 10, a driver was arrested for DUI after crashing into a parking lot light at 602 Orange Street, police said.
On Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 9, another driver was arrested for DUI after striking a parked vehicle in the 100 block of Terracina Drive and then colliding with a second vehicle at the intersection of Nevada Street and Barton Road, authorities said.
All cases remain under investigation unless otherwise noted.
