🚦Measure I would extend San Bernardino County's half-cent transportation sales tax: Voters will decide Tuesday whether to continue the existing tax beyond 2040 to fund road repairs, freeway improvements, public transit and other transportation projects. Redlands currently receives approximately $2 million annually for local street improvements through Measure I.
Read our explainer to learn how the money is spent, what would change and what a yes or no vote means.

📚 Measure Y asks voters to approve an $898 million community college bond: The proposal would fund repairs, upgrades and construction projects at Crafton Hills College, San Bernardino Valley College and other district facilities, including classrooms and career training programs. The bonds would be repaid through property taxes.
Here's what voters should know about the proposed improvements, taxpayer costs and what a yes or no vote means.

💸 Redlands Unified weighs $26 million in state funding amid growing student needs.
Elementary school suspensions have doubled compared with the same period last year, and Redlands Unified is facing growing demand for mental health services after cutting counseling staff.
District officials are preparing to opt into a state program that could provide more than $26 million over seven years to expand student support at 15 schools.
But the proposal divided school board members Tuesday, with some supporting additional counselors and behavioral specialists while others questioned the program's requirements and raised concerns about parental rights and school-based medical services — which district officials said are neither required nor planned.
Here's what the funding could mean for Redlands schools:

👟New shoes for every student at Lugonia Elementary: More than 550 students at Lugonia Elementary received new athletic shoes through a partnership between Stater Bros. Charities and Shoes That Fit. The donation followed a Southern California fundraising campaign that raised more than $766,000, with a Redlands Stater Bros. location leading participating stores in donations. See how the community partnership brought new shoes to every student at the school.
