REDLANDS, Calif. — A 48-year-old Redlands man was arrested Wednesday, April 22, after police say he was found in possession of hundreds of images depicting child sexual abuse material.
Jason Michael Swantek was contacted by Redlands police detectives as he traveled to work Wednesday morning following an online tip, according to the Redlands Police Department.
Detectives later served a search warrant at Swantek’s residence in the 700 block of Greenwood Court, where they seized multiple electronic devices containing images of child sexual abuse material, police said.
"During the investigation, detectives also found video recordings and photographs taken surreptitiously from the street of young children on school campuses and other locations in Redlands," the department said in a statement.
Swantek was booked at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, where he is being held on $30,000 bail.
Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact Detective Dale Peters at dpeters@redlandspolice.org or call the Redlands Police Department Investigations Bureau at (909) 798-7659.
The case is part of an ongoing operation by the Internet Crimes Against Children regional task force, which includes law enforcement agencies from San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
