REDLANDS, Calif. — The Family Service Association of Redlands will host its annual 5K Hunger Walk/Run on June 6 at the University of Redlands, bringing together community members to support local food assistance programs.
The family-friendly fundraiser is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. at Ted Runner Stadium, 1215 E. Brockton Ave. Proceeds from the event will benefit the organization’s Food Box program, Daily Breakfast service and School-Aged Children Summer Nutrition Program, which collectively provide thousands of meals to low-income families in the region.
Organizers say the event is designed to combine community engagement with direct impact, offering participants opportunities to contribute while accessing local resources. Activities will include a resource fair, live music, giveaways and a pancake breakfast hosted by the Kiwanis Noon Club.
“We are thrilled to invite the community to join us in the fight against hunger through the efforts of the Hunger Walk and Run,” said Terry Vines, a local business owner and Family Service Association board member.
Kyra Stewart, the organization’s executive director, said the event plays a key role in sustaining services throughout the year.
“Every contribution, walker, runner, sponsor and volunteer creates meaningful impact in our local community by addressing hunger,” Stewart said. “With this event and other grants and supporters, we were able to provide close to 29,000 meals in 2025.”
Registration is $40, with tickets set to go on sale April 20. Organizers encourage residents, businesses and community groups to participate or sponsor the event.
