Redlands is considering a citywide rule that would require bars, restaurants and breweries to stop serving alcohol at midnight — two hours earlier than allowed under state law. Police say the change would help address late-night crime and disturbances downtown, but local bar owners are pushing back, warning of lost revenue and arguing the city should target businesses causing problems instead. The Planning Commission revisits the proposal Tuesday.
🏗️ Redlands warehouse ban delayed: City Council members agree on prohibiting new warehouses, but what happens to the ones already here is proving more complicated. A final vote was delayed until Oct. 6 as the council debated whether existing warehouses should be allowed to build taller or add truck docks, and what environmental benefits the city should require in return.

🎒 1,100 backpacks for local students: Micah House’s annual Back2School Jam brought the community together to provide local students with 1,100 backpacks filled with school supplies, 100 free haircuts, hundreds of books and 30 bicycles and scooters. The event also featured food, activities and resources from dozens of community partners.
