REDLANDS, Calif. — Exterior demolition is underway at the southwest corner of Redlands Boulevard and Orange Street, marking the latest step in the redevelopment of the long-shuttered Redlands Mall property.
Crews have begun tearing down a building that previously housed a Denny’s restaurant, a mattress store and a bank. Interior demolition has been in progress since mid-March, with visible exterior work now advancing on the site.

Fencing has been installed around the construction area, though parking remains available in the surrounding CVS lot as work continues.
The mall property was purchased in 2025 by Jack and Laura Dangermond, founders of Esri, through their development company, Town Square Development. The project aims to reimagine the aging commercial site in the heart of downtown.

In April 2026, Town Square Development entered into an agreement with the city of Redlands to maintain parking availability during construction.
No timeline for completion of the demolition or details on the next phase of construction were immediately available.
