REDLANDS, Calif. — A woman was robbed of nearly $5,000 in gold jewelry while sitting in her vehicle near downtown Redlands early Tuesday morning, according to Redlands Police Department officials.
The robbery occurred as the woman was leaving the downtown parking structure at Fifth Street and Citrus Avenue on June 16. Police said a man reached through the driver's side window and grabbed several gold chains from around her neck before fleeing. The incident remains under investigation.
The robbery was among several violent incidents highlighted in the Redlands Police Department's weekly update covering June 11-18.
Police are also investigating a reported shooting in the 1000 block of Carlson Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. June 16. According to police, witnesses reported that an argument between a man and his adult son escalated when the father allegedly fired a gunshot at the victim. No injuries were reported.
Both parties left before officers arrived. After serving a search warrant, investigators recovered evidence consistent with a shooting. Police later contacted the intended victim, but said he declined to cooperate with the investigation.
Earlier that evening, officers responded to a stabbing at Sylvan Park.
Police said witnesses reported a large group fighting in the park when one man pulled a knife and stabbed another participant. The suspect then ran across University Street while being chased by several people, who allegedly assaulted him and struck him in the head with a skateboard.
Officers found one victim with a superficial stab wound and another man unconscious with a significant head injury. Both were transported to a hospital.
The department also reported several incidents involving large groups of juveniles at local shopping centers.
Two juveniles and two adults were arrested following a disturbance involving hundreds of juveniles at Citrus Plaza and Mountain Grove shopping centers on June 14, police said.
Two days earlier, officers responded to Mountain Grove after reports that between 60 and 75 juveniles were fighting. One victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. Police said the victim and his mother declined prosecution.

Police also reported continued investigations into a series of stolen and attempted vehicle thefts across the city. Several Kia and Hyundai vehicles, along with one Honda, were found with damaged door locks, steering columns and ignitions in multiple neighborhoods, including: 1200 block of San Pablo, the 0 block of Tennessee Street, 100 block of Norwood, 700 block of West Olive Avenue, 1400 block of Barton Road, 300 block of New York Street, 600 block of Kansas Street and 200 block of Carrie Lane.
