REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands Public Market customers now have access to 53 free parking spaces at the former LOOK Cinemas property, adding another parking option near the downtown food hall.

RPM owner Jerry Tessier said the market rents the 53 spaces on the east side of the former theater property for customer parking.

If those spaces are full, customers can use free 90-minute on-street parking or the city's Stuart Avenue parking structure, which Tessier said is less than a two-minute walk from the market across the train tracks.

Other spaces in the former theater parking lot are available for paid parking.

Customers picking up to-go orders can also use the green curb along Third Street in front of Redlands Public Market for up to 10 minutes, Tessier said.

The additional parking comes as downtown parking continues to be a focus for city officials. The Redlands City Council recently shelved plans for a new 140-space parking lot between Seventh and Ninth streets after spending $104,000 studying and designing the project. City officials have also been evaluating longer-term parking options as redevelopment of the former Redlands Mall property is expected to reduce the number of spaces available downtown.
