REDLANDS, Calif. — The Redlands City Council will meet Tuesday, June 2 to review the city manager’s proposed two-year budget and consider more than $2.7 million in equipment purchases. Council will also consider adopting an updated Water Shortage Contingency Plan.
Here’s how the meeting breaks down:
Closed Session
Before the public meeting, the council will hold a closed session, which is legally confidential except for any “reportable action” announced by the city attorney. Under California law, closed sessions cover sensitive matters such as litigation, human resources issues and property negotiations.
During the closed session beginning at 5:00 p.m. on June 2, the council will:
- Confer with legal counsel on existing litigation in Holzer v. City of Redlands.
- Confer with labor negotiators for a variety of city employee organizations.
Consent Calendar (I 1-17)
The consent calendar groups together routine, non-controversial items for approval in a single vote, unless a council member pulls an item for separate discussion or a public comment is submitted.
On this agenda, highlights include:
- Adoption of a salary schedule and compensation plan for city employees.
- Adoption of a resolution declaring the city’s intent to annex territory into Community Facilities District 2004-01.
- Approval of a $95,840 agreement with Cumming Management Group, Inc. for a solar feasibility study.
- A resolution to establish a special tax levy for the Redlands Business Center.
- Adopt resolution No. 8784 relating to Senate Bill No. 1 Road Repair and Accountability Act Project List.
- Approval of an agreement with the Redlands Theatre Festival to use the Sewall Theater within Prospect Park.
- Approval of more than $82,000 in city support for the Fourth of July celebration, including street closures and alcohol sales authorization.
- Approval of a $128,601.30 public works construction contract to complete the Gateway Refresh Project.
Communications

- Council will discuss canceling its Aug. 4 and Aug. 18 regular meetings for its annual summer recess.
- Council will hear a report from the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority City-County Conference.

New Business

- Council will consider new policies governing disruptions at public meetings and technical issues during hybrid meetings to comply with Senate Bill 707.
- Consideration of a proposed $319,021 agreement with Cal Fire for wildland fire protection services.
- Council will consider increasing a video management system replacement contract by approximately $502,000.
- Consideration of a new three-year, $271,185 agreement with Esri.
- Officials will consider purchasing three new solid waste collection vehicles for approximately $1.44 million.
- Consideration of purchasing a 623 scraper from Caterpillar Inc. for approximately $1.35 million.
- Council will review the city manager's proposed two-year budget for fiscal years 2027 and 2028.
