REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands residents will once again have the opportunity to weigh in on city services, priorities and quality of life as the city launches its annual community survey.
The city of Redlands this week launched its sixth consecutive National Community Survey, which asks residents to evaluate city services, identify priorities and share their views on life in Redlands. Results are used by city leaders to help guide budgeting, strategic planning and policy decisions.
The survey, developed by civic engagement firm Polco, asks residents about overall quality of life, neighborhood characteristics, city services and priorities for the future. It is available in English and Spanish.
Earlier this year, the Redlands City Council approved a three-year, $73,650 agreement with Polco to continue conducting the annual survey. The contract, valued at about $24,550 per year, extends a partnership that began in 2021.
The National Community Survey has been used by more than 350 communities in 46 states and allows Redlands to compare local results with national benchmarks, as well as track changes in resident opinions over time.
Random sample survey
A randomly selected sample of households will receive survey invitations by mail over the coming weeks. City officials said those residents are encouraged to participate to ensure the survey reflects a representative cross-section of the community.
Communitywide survey coming later this month
Residents who are not selected will also have an opportunity to participate. The city plans to release a communitywide online version of the survey later this month. Residents can sign up to be notified when the communitywide survey becomes available at: https://polco.us/n/res/signup
