Ken Hubbs school winners announced
Runner Frank Rodriguez is the Redlands East Valley boys' Ken Hubbs Award school winner.

The school winners for the Ken Hubbs Award have been chosen.

The Hubbs Award is the most prestigious high school sports award in the greater San Bernardino area.

The award is named after the late Ken Hubbs. Hubbs was a four-sport star and student body president at Colton Hign in the late 1950s. He played with the Chicago Cubs and was named Rookie of the Year and set fielding records in 1962. Hubbs was killed in an airplane crash outside of Provo, Utah before spring training in 1964.

The Hubbs banquet is at 6 p.m. pm on Monday, May 12 at Indian Springs High. The overall boys and girls Ken Hubbs winners and other awards will be announced that night.
