The Friends’ monthly bag sale returns Sept. 5, with shoppers invited to fill a bag with books for $5 for members or $8 for non-members.
The Friends of A.K. Smiley Public Library will hold its monthly book bag sale Saturday, Sept. 5, offering shoppers a chance to stock up on books while supporting the Redlands library.
The sale will take place downstairs in the Friends Bookstore at A.K. Smiley Public Library, 125 W. Vine St. Friends members will receive early access from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the sale opening to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Bags cost $5 for Friends members and $8 for non-members, with a two-bag maximum. Oversized bags count as two bags.
Memberships will also be available for purchase during the sale. Annual memberships are $10 for students, $20 for individuals and $35 for families, with additional options available for businesses and patrons.
Proceeds from Friends memberships and sales support A.K. Smiley Public Library, including the purchase of books and digital materials, children's programming, infrastructure improvements and heritage programs.
The Friends of A.K. Smiley Public Library was founded in 1973 to support the library.
