Redlands resident and retired Air Force lieutenant colonel says Honor Flight trip honored enlisted veterans who often returned home without recognition after the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Six drivers were cited during a DUI checkpoint Friday night in Redlands, police said.
Officers screened 429 vehicles during the checkpoint, which was held from 6 p.m. Friday, May 15, to midnight Saturday at Citrus Avenue and Church Street.
Five drivers were cited for driving without a valid driver’s license, and one driver was cited for driving on a suspended license. One vehicle was impounded.
Police said DUI checkpoint locations are selected based on reported incidents of impaired-driving-related crashes. The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
