Redlands Symphony Purse Party returns Sept. 24
Annual fundraiser will auction more than 200 purses and accessories to support free music education for local students
REDLANDS, Calif. — Fashion and fundraising will come together next week as the Redlands Symphony hosts its annual Purse Party on Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Museum of Redlands.
The event begins at 5 p.m. and will feature silent and live auctions with more than 200 purses and accessories, including designer brands such as Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade and Tory Burch.
Guests can also enjoy appetizer bites from local vendors while bidding on auction items and supporting the Symphony's music education programs.
“Not only is it a fabulous time, but it raises money for a fabulous cause,” said Jill Jordan, one of several volunteers helping produce the Purse Party.
Proceeds from the fundraiser help the Redlands Symphony provide classical music experiences free of charge to every fourth- and fifth-grade student in the Redlands Unified and Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified school districts.
The Symphony's education programs include OrKIDstra, which introduces local elementary school students to live orchestral music, as well as other educational and community outreach efforts.
Organizers said proceeds from the Purse Party help ensure those programs remain available at no cost to participating children and schools.
Tickets are $60 per person. Those unable to attend can also register online to participate in the auction remotely.
