REDLANDS, Calif. — The Prickly Pears will bring the romantic spirit of singing cowboys to Redlands during a free Smiley Live! concert Wednesday, Aug. 12.
The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Contemporary Club, 173 S. Eureka St.
Based in Pioneertown, the historic 1940s Western movie set in the Mojave Desert, the musical duo specializes in classic cowboy songs from the era.
Their performances feature yodeling melodies, acoustic guitar and close harmonies, blending traditional stories of the open range with a contemporary high-desert sound.
The duo takes its name from the prickly pear cactus found throughout the Mojave landscape.
