Caltrans crews continue work on SR-38 in Redlands, with lane closures, detours and curb ramp construction expected in several areas.

REDLANDS, Calif. — No injuries were reported after a fire broke out inside an attached garage at a Redlands home Friday evening, Aug. 21.
The Redlands Fire Department responded shortly before 6:30 p.m. to the 1600 block of Bellevue Road, where crews found a fire burning in a shop area inside the garage behind a single-story home.
All occupants had safely evacuated before firefighters arrived, according to the department.
First-arriving crews quickly knocked down the fire, limiting its spread beyond the area where it started. Firefighters also worked to protect the homeowners’ belongings and minimize damage to the residence.
Crews remained at the scene for more than three hours.
Damage was estimated at approximately $125,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
