The Redlands Planning Commission will revisit a proposed warehouse ban that could reshape industrial development citywide, while the Redlands Unified School Board considers stadium upgrades, student trips, and new wellness programs. The Redlands Planning Commission will revisit a proposal Tuesday to ban new warehouses and logistics centers citywide while allowing existing facilities to remain in operation. The discussion follows months of debate over how to balance industrial development with residents’ concerns about pollution, truck traffic, and land use.

Commissioners will continue discussions Tuesday on whether to prohibit new warehouse and logistics centers citywide while allowing existing facilities to remain in operation.

Routine approvals include:

  • A one-year extension for UCR Group LLC to build a 48,079-square-foot light industrial building at New Jersey Street and West Park Avenue.
  • A one-year extension to construct a commercial shopping center with a 16,027-square-foot major tenant, two drive-thru restaurants, and related site improvements.

New BusinessPublic hearings include:

  • A plan to split a 36,097-square-foot lot at 1560 N. Church Street into two residential parcels (Measure U study required).
  • An eight-unit condominium project at 516–532 Cajon Street, including parcel merger and conditional use permit.
  • A proposal to update development and design standards for accessory dwelling units (ADUs) citywide.

The meeting begins at 4 p.m. in the City Council Chambers (35 Cajon Street) and will be livestreamed on Zoom.

Tuesday, Oct. 14 — Redlands Unified School District Board of Education

🎒 Upgrades, travel, and training on the agenda
The Redlands Unified school board will meet at 6 p.m. to review a packed agenda including stadium upgrades, student field trips, and new training contracts. Trustees will consider a $26,500 feasibility study for Redlands High’s home-side bleachers, approve several student travel requests, and vote on partnerships for wellness and culturally relevant instruction.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at 25 W. Lugonia Ave. and will be livestreamed on the district website. Community members may comment on agenda items by submitting a registration card before the start of public participation. Comments are limited to three minutes and must be made in person.
