Dodgers trade former REV, CBU star Damon Keith to Brewers

The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded minor league outfielder Damon Keith, a former star for Redlands East Valley High and Cal Baptist University baseball teams, to the Milwaukee Brewers for cash considerations.

Keith, who played for the Oklahoma City Drillers in the Class AA Texas League the past two seasons, has been assigned to the Biloxi Shuckers, the Brewers’ Double-A affiliate. He earned some playing time during spring training in Arizona with the Dodgers parent club.

He drove in two runs with a triple in a Dodgers 14-3 win over the Chicago Cubs and his bid for a grand slam homer against the Oakland Athletics on March 21 was caught at the fence and he settled for an RBI on a sacrifice fly.

Keith was two-time all-Citrus Belt League first-team player at REV, batting .393 in his junior year of 2017 with six triples and 15 runs batted in. In his senior year, Keith hit .371 with three homers, seven doubles and 30 RBI and four run-scoring sacrifice flies.

In his three seasons with the Wildcats, the team posted a 65-22 record, 32-10 in CBL play in finishing second twice and third once.

Keith played three seasons at Division I Cal Baptist in Riverside. As a senior in 2021, he batted .336 with 13 homers, 12 doubles, 36 RBI and a 1.0212 OPS to earn Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

He was drafted by the Dodgers in the 18th round of the June amateur draft in 2021 and batted .333 in “rookie” ball at the Dodgers spring training headquarters in Arizona.

In 2022, he split time between Class A Rancho Cucamonga, batting .299 with 12 homers, 65 RBI and 23 doubles and scoring 75 runs. He also played in 31 games with Class A Great Lakes.

At Oklahoma City, he batted .259 in 2024 with 16 home runs and 38 RBI. In 2025, he hit .226 with 11 homers and 44 RBI.
