Cajon girls, Beaumont boys finish CBL dual track season unbeaten
Both teams go 5-0 as league shifts focus to finals at Redlands East Valley
Cajon High School’s girls track and field team finished the 2026 Citrus Belt League dual meet season with a 97-30 win over Citrus Valley to finish unbeaten at 5-0.
Beaumont High’s boys team did the same, beating Redlands High 85-42, both on Tuesday, April 21. Next up for the six CBL programs is the league prelims and finals scheduled for Tuesday (April 28) and Thursday (April 30) at Redlands East Valley High’s stadium.
In other girls meets Tuesday, Beaumont beat Redlands East Valley 88-39 and Yucaipa downed Redlands 98.5-28.5.
In other boys meets, Cajon defeated Citrus Valley 71-35 and Yucaipa beat Redlands 110-17.

CBL girls highlights
In the loss to Beaumont, REV freshman sprinter Savannah Morris set personal bests in two events and nearly a third. She won the 100 meters in 12.32, just off her season-best 12.27, set a personal best of 47.29 in the 300-meter hurdles and won the long jump with a mark of 17 feet, 7 inches.
Beaumont’s Julie Kowalski won the 400 meters in 59.57 and the 200 meters in 26.63. Delaney Reiss and her sister Kennedy Reiss finished 1-2 in the discus, and Delaney also won the shotput for REV. Mia Soto of Beaumont won the 1600 meters in 5:21.57, just ahead of REV’s Ariana Zollinger at 5:23.83.
In Yucaipa’s win over Redlands, Sadie Herford won the long jump at 16 feet, 3 inches and the 100 meters in 13.03. Carmen Robles of Redlands won the shotput at 37 feet, 1 inch, while Emmalynne Dowdy of Yucaipa won the discus at 123 feet. Rylee Edmiston of Yucaipa won both hurdle races as the Thunderbirds swept three events.
Cajon swept five events in its win over Citrus Valley. Lyrics Thompson won the 100 meters in 12.70, and Crystal Ocansa won the 200 meters in 25.0. Alyssa Castaneda and Alina King of Citrus Valley finished 1-2 in the 800 meters. Kendall Timm of CVHS was second in the high jump. Cajon’s 4x100 relay won in 49.85.
CBL boys highlights
In REV’s loss to Beaumont, sophomore Elijah Medina set a personal best in the 800 meters, winning in 1:56.83, and also took the 1600 meters in 4:23.56.
De-Mareaye Hopkins set a personal best in the 110-meter hurdles at 15.59 and nearly matched his best in the 300 hurdles at 39.88. Yoanis Altamirano set a personal best in the discus at 145 feet, 7 inches.
Beaumont’s Daryl Williams led a sweep of the 400 meters, and Jacob Light led a sweep of the 3200 meters. Freshman Tyler Curren won the triple jump.
Cajon swept five events in its win over Citrus Valley. Ayden Ramirez led a sweep of the 1600 meters, while Roman Dorado led a sweep of the 3200 meters. Zeth Verdon won the triple jump, and Jackson Brown won both the shotput and discus. Cajon also won the 4x100 relay in 43.11.
Yucaipa dominated 12 of 15 events against Redlands. Matthew Luna won the long jump for Redlands. Ronin Lopez led a Yucaipa sweep of the shotput and also won the discus. Nathanial Sahler won the 3200 meters, and Huckleberry Faber won both hurdle races. Jacob Homan won the triple jump and high jump.
Mt. SAC Relays
At the Mt. SAC Relays (April 16–18), Emmalynne Dowdy of Yucaipa won the seeded girls discus at 132 feet, 3 inches. Cajon’s boys 4x800 relay team won its race in 8:01.57.
REV’s 4x800 relay placed ninth in the invitational race. Beaumont’s girls 4x800 team took second in the rated event, and the boys team won the seeded event.
Inland Empire Championships
At Vista Murrieta on April 18, REV freshman Savannah Morris won the frosh-soph 100 meters and 200 meters.
Sadie Herford of Redlands placed third in the 300 hurdles and sixth in the long jump. De-Mareaye Hopkins placed third in the 300 hurdles with a personal best. Drake Rundles of Yucaipa took second in the triple jump. Citrus Valley’s 4x800 relay placed second.
Ambassador League meet No. 3
Arrowhead Christian Academy athletes competed April 15 at Murrieta Mesa. Genevieve Treur won the girls 200 meters in 25.53. Micah Slagter won the 400 meters in a personal-best 52.03.
Jesea Snyder placed second in the girls shotput, and ACA finished second in the boys 4x400 relay. The Ambassador League finals are set for April 30.
