Fire burns 83 acres in San Timoteo Canyon Saturday

Update 8:15 p.m.: The San Timoteo Canyon Fire is 30% contained and has burned an estimated 83 acres, according to Cal Fire. Firefighters completed a walk of the perimeter and will remain on scene overnight to strengthen containment lines.
Cal Fire, the Redlands Fire Department and Riverside County Fire Department are leading the response.
No injuries have been reported. This is the final update expected from Cal Fire for the evening unless there is significant new fire activity.
Update 5:00 p.m.: Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of a vegetation fire that burned an estimated 25 acres Saturday afternoon in San Timoteo Canyon, according to the Redlands Fire Department.
REDLANDS, Calif. 3:35 pm— A wildfire ignited around 2:30pm on Saturday, June 28 west of the 13600 Block of San Timoteo Canyon Road south of Redlands.
By 3:25 the fire grew to about 12 acres with moderate spread and threatening one structure south of the fire, according to Watch Duty. Multiple units have been called to assist, including ground crews and air attack.
Traffic at Alessandro Road and San Timoteo Canyon Road is being redirected.
