REDLANDS, Calif. — The Redlands Unified School District (RUSD) Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Sept. 23, to approve Redlands East Valley pool upgrades, field trips and a $165K grant to support Career Technical Education programs
Here’s how the meeting breaks down:
Closed Session
Before the public meeting, the board will hold a closed session to discuss sensitive matters such as labor negotiations, personnel appointments, litigation and student discipline.
During the closed session beginning at 3:30 p.m., the board will discuss:
Labor negotiations with the Redlands Education Support Professionals Association and the Redlands Teachers Association.
Employee appointments for a behavior analyst and a secretary.
Legal counsel updates on ongoing litigation.
A public employee performance evaluation and the discipline, dismissal or release of an employee.
Open Session
The regular meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.
Public Participation
During this time, individuals may address the Board on matters on the agenda. Speakers must submit a completed speaker slip to the Clerk or designated staff member prior to the start of public comments on agenda items. The allotted time will be announced during the meeting.

Approval of a $156,088 contract to build a shade structure over the Redlands East Valley High School pool awarded to Western State Builders, Inc.
Ratification of an emergency contract with Pacific West Construction Solutions, Inc., for replacement of about 400 feet of gas line at Redlands High School following a leak.
Authorization to remove and dispose of five obsolete district vehicles, with some first offered to RUSD auto shops for student use.
Approval of district membership in the Statewide Educational Wrap-Up Program (SfvEWUP), a cost-saving insurance program for construction projects.

Approval of a field trip for 15 Citrus Valley High School students to attend a business trade show at San Diego State University.
Approval of a field trip for 80 Cram Elementary School 5th graders to attend an outdoor science camp in Twin Peaks.
Approval of a field trip for 56 Mentone Elementary School 5th graders to attend the Catalina Island Marine Institute.
Approval of an agreement with In-N-Out to provide meals for Cope Middle School students as part of the “Talon Ticket” incentive program, not to exceed $17,291.25.
Acceptance of a $165,540 Perkins Grant Award to support Career Technical Education programs at Citrus Valley, Redlands East Valley, Redlands and Orangewood high schools.
Approval of volunteers and field trip chaperones for the 2025–26 school year.
