REDLANDS, Calif. – The Redlands Unified School District board meets Tuesday to review the district’s Second Interim financial report, which outlines updated budget projections and staffing assumptions for the coming years.
Trustees will also consider a new mental health policy and instructional materials for the 2026-2027 school year dual language immersion program.
The board is also set to approve an agreement with the Redlands Teachers Association and Redlands Education Support Professionals Association. The agreement is a result of negotiations concerning displaying personal items following the approval of Board Policy 6115 – Ceremonies and Observations.
Here’s what to know.
Director of Fiscal Services Kirtan Shah will present the district’s Second Interim financial report, which updates revenue and spending projections and includes multiyear budget assumptions required by the state.
A public hearing will be held to discuss the adoption of instructional materials for the Dual Language Immersion Kindergarten Program beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. The two materials to be discussed are Houghton Mifflin Harcourt “Go Math!” and McGraw Hill ELA “Maravillas”.

The board will approve the Comprehensive School Safety Plans for each school site. Each school is required to annually review, update and adopt a safety plan by March 1.
The board will approve two items related to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Redlands-Riverside, which will be providing 16 days of spring and summer ELOP sessions for 200 students. The first item is an amendment that adds $200,000 to the existing agreement while the second allows the organization to utilize certain classrooms and facility spaces for after school and extended year programs.
Trustees will consider a new mental health regulation that includes health referral protocols for all students enrolled in the district. School employees will receive training and guidance to clarify their roles in the referral process. The regulation also includes referral criteria, protocols for high-risk pupil groups, monitoring and follow-up as well as parent/guardian notification and consent.
The board will approve agreements between the district and the Redlands Teachers Association and the Redlands Education Support Professionals Association. The agreement is a result of negotiations regarding the impacts of Board Policy 6115 - Ceremonies and Observations.
Included in the agreement is that members have a right to place personal items on their work desk even if the items fall outside the parameters of the policy so long as they are consistent with historic practices.
