Inland Empire unemployment falls as labor force shrinks
Construction, manufacturing and professional services continued to lose jobs while health care added workers, and a shrinking labor force contributed to the region's lower unemployment rate.
Opening: Volunteer position on the city of Redlands Municipal Utilities/Public Works Commission, with a deadline of Sept. 24.
What they do: The commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council and assists various city departments by providing citizen review and input on public works projects and facilities management. Members of the commission are appointed by the City Council.
Time commitment: The commission meets at 4 p.m. on the first Monday of even-numbered months.
