Public invited to tour upgraded facility, meet firefighters at Aug. 6 event
After more than a year of construction, Fire Station 262 in Redlands is set to reopen with a public celebration at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6.
The station at 1690 Garden St., has undergone a major renovation aimed at improving both operations and living conditions for fire personnel. Updates include a full remodel of the dormitories and restrooms, with new designs that meet inclusive standards for a diverse workforce.
Firefighters from Station 262 had been temporarily housed at the city’s Carriage House on Prospect Drive since April 2024, ensuring uninterrupted emergency response during construction.
Community members are invited to tour the newly updated station, meet local firefighters, and learn more about fire safety and emergency services. Light refreshments will be provided.
