Dairy Queen disturbance

Police arrested a man Wednesday evening, Oct. 8, after he caused a disturbance at the Dairy Queen at 664 E. Redlands Blvd. and fought with responding officers, injuring one of them. Officers responded to reports of a transient person behaving erratically inside the business. Police said the man, who was on probation, admitted to having a knife. During the encounter, he kicked one of the officers several times before being subdued. He was arrested for resisting arrest, obstructing an officer, and violating probation.

Home Depot robbery

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Thursday evening, Sept. 25, at Home Depot, 1151 W. Lugonia Ave. According to police, a man filled a cart with merchandise and produced a butcher knife at the register before fleeing on foot with roughly $2,000 in goods. Despite an air search by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s helicopter, the suspect was not located.

Domestic violence arrests

A man was arrested Monday night, Sept. 29, after pointing a shotgun at his wife’s head during an argument, police said. The victim fled with her children and notified authorities. Officers later detained the suspect outside his home and seized two shotguns for evidence.

In a separate incident, shortly after midnight Saturday, Sept. 27, an officer witnessed a woman jumping from a moving vehicle near Nevada Street and Barton Road after a reported domestic assault. Police said the driver tried to flee and head-butted an officer before being taken into custody.

Shooting outside Projekt Redlands

Officers responded to reports of shots fired early Saturday morning, Sept. 27, in a parking lot at 6th Street and Redlands Boulevard. Police said a fight broke out between two groups leaving Projekt Redlands, during which a man brandished a handgun, threatened a woman, and fired a round into the air before fleeing. The vehicle linked to the suspect was found unoccupied and towed for evidence.

Other incidents

Police said a man died Friday afternoon, Oct. 3, when a vehicle he was working under collapsed on him in an alley behind the 1000 block of Texas Street. Firefighters lifted the vehicle off the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Saturday morning, Oct. 4, a driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed through two residential yards near Center Street and Crescent Avenue, striking a home and a gas meter. The Redlands Fire Department and SoCal Gas responded for the damaged line.
