Redland Police Report July 10 - 17
REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands police are investigating a violent assault after a delivery driver reported hearing a woman screaming behind a local car dealership early Wednesday morning, July 16.
The driver, who was making a delivery near Toyota of Redlands, told police he shined a flashlight toward the noise and saw a man striking a woman. The suspect fled east behind the nearby bowling alley before officers arrived.
According to police, the woman told officers that the man — who is the father of her child — beat her with a bottle until it shattered, then stabbed her in the head and neck. After giving a brief statement, the woman declined further cooperation with police and refused medical attention. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect has not been located.
In a separate incident, police responded to a head-on collision just before 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 11, in the 1500 block of Elizabeth Street. A driver traveling on the wrong side of the road struck a parked car. She was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and was found to be driving under the influence.
Anyone with information related to these incidents is urged to contact Redlands Police Dispatch at (909) 798-7681, ext. 1, or report non-emergency crimes online at www.cityofredlands.org/report-crime.
