REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands police are investigating an early morning robbery at a convenience store and several DUI-related crashes reported across the city this week, according to the department’s weekly update released Thursday.

Employee Assaulted in 7-Eleven Robbery

Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, July 26, two juvenile boys attempted to steal alcoholic beverages from the 7-Eleven store at 1161 W. Lugonia Ave. When a store employee confronted the suspects, the teens assaulted him, striking him multiple times with their fists before fleeing in a silver sedan.

The victim was treated at the scene for injuries but declined transportation to the hospital. Police are reviewing surveillance footage and continuing to investigate.

Hit-and-Run Injures Passenger Downtown

Also on July 26, officers responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a white Dodge Challenger that struck two vehicles in downtown Redlands. The driver fled the scene, but a male passenger broke his leg while exiting the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital for treatment. Police are working to identify the driver.

Two DUI Arrests After Crashes

Police arrested two women on suspicion of DUI in separate incidents last week.

Around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, July 31, a woman crashed into three parked vehicles in the 1100 block of Cornell Avenue. She was taken into custody at the scene.

Early Saturday morning, July 26, another woman was arrested after crashing into a parked vehicle at Fern Avenue and La Paloma Street. The collision caused her airbags to deploy. No injuries were reported in either crash.
