      Redlands police investigate armed robbery Downtown
    
        Plus, a restaurant break-in and a home burglary in this week's police update
             
      
   
        
        REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands police are investigating several incidents reported between Oct. 23 and Oct. 30, including an armed robbery downtown, a burglary at a pizza restaurant and a DUI crash in east Redlands.
Downtown armed robbery
Shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, a man was robbed at gunpoint while walking north on 5th Street near Citrus Avenue after leaving The Underground, police said. Two suspects wearing face masks confronted the victim, with one pointing a gun and the other stealing a gold chain valued at several thousand dollars. The suspects fled in a nearby vehicle.
Pizza restaurant break-in
That same night, officers responded to a break-in at Uncle Howie’s Pizza, 800 E. Lugonia Ave., after an unknown suspect shattered a glass door and damaged an arcade game inside. Surveillance footage showed the suspect carrying a hammer and wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. He is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s.
South Redlands burglary
Police are investigating a burglary report Saturday night, Oct. 25, in the 600 block of Mariposa Drive. Police say a suspects shattered a rear glass door to enter a home and stole a jewelry box. 
DUI arrest
In a separate case, police were patrolling the area of Wabash and Brockton avenues Wednesday night, Oct. 29, when they spotted a red Nissan 350Z speeding away. The driver lost control while turning, causing the car to spin out before stopping a short distance later. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, and the vehicle was impounded.
