REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands police are investigating reports of a kidnapping, threats and sexual assault involving a teenage runaway who met with two adult men in a Redlands park, authorities said.
Police said the teen later spent the night at a local motel with one of the men before the two traveled by train to Los Angeles. While in Los Angeles, the teen was able to escape from the suspect, police said.
The teen was later contacted by Los Angeles Police Department officers, who determined she was a runaway and returned her to the Redlands area. After returning, the teen reported that she had been sexually assaulted, police said.
No arrests have been announced, and the investigation remains active.
