REDLANDS, Calif. — The Redlands Police Community Foundation has elected Chris Martin as its new president, succeeding Judy Cannon, who served three years in the role.
The foundation’s board also named Redlands business owner and entrepreneur Terry Vines as vice president. Mike Bosman will continue as secretary, and David Streit will remain treasurer.
“Chris has been involved in numerous community organizations over the years,” Cannon said. “He not only has tremendous leadership skills, but also brings with him a vast network of contacts. He knows how to get things done and who can do them.”
Vines said the foundation plays an important role in supporting programs outside of the police department’s budget, including the Citizen Volunteers, youth programs, and the city’s police K-9 unit. “These programs help make Redlands a safer city,” he said.
The nonprofit, established in 2017, works closely with the Redlands Police Department to raise money for community programs and events. The foundation will mark its eighth anniversary this October.
Martin said his goal is to expand the foundation’s reach. “We have so much potential and opportunity,” he said. “We are only limited by our imaginations.”
RPCF partners with the Redlands Police Officers Association to host the annual Coptober Community Fair, scheduled this year for Oct. 18 at Ranch Market in Redlands. Throughout the year, the group also funds backpacks for back-to-school events, T-shirts for youth sports, and gift cards for the Heroes and Helpers Christmas program.
