🚒 A new fire station is coming to southwest Redlands: City Council has approved Heritage Park as the future site of Fire Station 264, moving forward with design plans funded by $1.2 million in reallocated city funds. The new station will replace the temporary modular facility firefighters have used for over 15 years and improve emergency response times for residents in southwest Redlands. Read more here

🌳 Free trees, Saturday in North Redlands: The inaugural Northside Green Share — moved indoors to Gonzales Community Center due to rain — will offer free shade trees, sustainability workshops, plant exchanges, and family activities this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is hosted by a coalition of local groups working to expand tree canopy in neighborhoods most affected by heat.

🚨 Redlands Police Weekly Report: Officers arrested a 17-year-old in the Nov. 2 house-party shooting after identifying the suspect and recovering a firearm. Police also investigated three residential burglaries, responded to a structure fire on Orange Street, and made several arrests. Read more here

🎨 New artist residency fuses art and environmental action: The Artlands Creative has launched the Regional Eco Arts Community Hub (REACH), a residency inviting artists and writers to explore local environmental issues through creative community projects. Participants will receive studio space, a stipend and opportunities to engage the public through events and exhibitions in Redlands and the Morongo Basin. 💸 Art education grants open: The Margaret Clark Art Education Enrichment Fund is now accepting applications for grants of up to $2,000 to support art education in Redlands. Funding is available for classroom projects, youth arts programs, scholarships and community initiatives that expand creative opportunities for local students. Applications are handled through the Redlands Art Association.

Speakers from Loma Linda University Health, Cal State San Bernardino, Esri, and Congress shared insights on innovation, collaboration, and preparing the community for an AI-driven future. 🏆 Sports Notebook: Citrus Valley High girls golf captured the CIF-SS Division 5 title at El Prado with a team score of 471. Redlands High and Arrowhead Christian Academy girls volleyball teams advance to the CIF-State Southern California Regional tournaments, with Redlands facing West Ranch and ACA taking on Academy of Our Lady of Peace. Meanwhile, University of Redlands women’s volleyball upset La Verne 3-2, ending a 28-match losing streak, while the Redlands football team fell 28-14 to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Senior Day, finishing second in their division and preparing to host a divisional playoff game. 🏈 Redlands East Valley falls 16-15 in first-round of playoffs: The Wildcats’ return to the playoffs ended with a narrow loss to St. Margaret’s of San Juan Capistrano in the CIF-Southern Section Division 10 opener. REV trailed by a safety in the second half despite strong efforts from quarterback Isaac Vitela and receiver Nathaniel Williams III. Redlands City Council voted unanimously to draft an ordinance expanding where hens can be kept, potentially allowing them in all single-family residential areas.
