REDLANDS, Calif. — A 76-year-old man died after a house fire Sunday evening in Redlands, according to fire officials.

Redlands Fire Department crews responded around 5:30 p.m. to a single-story structure fire in the 100 block of Wabash Avenue.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered the rear of the structure well involved in fire and located the man in the front driveway, officials said.

Firefighter-paramedics began advanced life support measures while additional crews worked to put out the fire.

The man was transported by firefighter-paramedics and American Medical Response ambulance crews to a hospital, where he later died.

Firefighters contained and extinguished the fire in about 20 minutes, preventing further damage to the residence.

No other injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation by Redlands Fire Department investigators in coordination with the Redlands Police Department. The cause has not been determined.
