From sports to music to preservation, the Sept. 30 event highlights more than a century of community tradition.
REDLANDS, Calif. — The Redlands Area Historical Society will host the inaugural Heritage Club Fair on Sept. 30, bringing together some of the city’s oldest clubs and organizations for an evening of history, discovery and community connection.
The event is designed as a showcase for “heritage clubs” — groups that are at least 50 years old — as well as organizations that support local history and preservation. Participating groups range from sports and music to art, horticulture, business and even a club that contributed to the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics.
“The Heritage Club Fair is about more than history — it’s about connecting today’s residents with the institutions and volunteers who have made Redlands a wonderful place to live for generations and continue to do so today,” said John P. Beall, vice president of the Historical Society. “This is an opportunity to experience Redlands more fully, find awesome groups of people with common interests, meet the people behind these organizations, learn about their legacies and discover how you can be part of their ongoing story.”
The fair will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Redlands Contemporary Club, 173 S. Eureka Street. Admission is free and open to the public.
Exhibit space is free but limited. Organizations interested in participating may contact the Redlands Area Historical Society through its website at rahs.org/contact.
Founded to preserve and share the city’s cultural heritage, the Historical Society organizes lectures, tours, archives and community events to protect historic landmarks for future generations.
