Redlands News: June 13, 2025
Redlands rezones for 2,300 homes, Air rules rejected, Chamber wins big, Summer under the stars begins
Redlands FC will finally finish up their 5 consecutive road game streak as they take on AMSG Saturday night.
The Opponent
AMSG comes into the match 6th in the Southwest Division standings with 8 points in 6 games. Despite having just a -1 goal differential, all but two of their games have been decided by multiple goals. They most recently took down Stars FC by a score of 3-1.
AMSG have struggled against the best of the division though, falling 3-0 to third place FC Tucson and 4-0 to fourth place Ventura County
Controlling Their Own Destiny
With Redlands win on Wednesday and Ventura County’s loss, Redlands have now moved into 2nd place into the Southwest Division and a playoff spot. This means with 7 games left in the season they control their own destiny to a postseason berth.
It will start with the game Saturday night, and then feature multiple huge clashes at home against Capo FC and FC Tucson at home.
Player to Watch: Troy Elgersma
It is only right after securing a brace in the last game that Troy Elgersma is the man to watch. The Redlands High School graduate now at American University has been with Redlands FC since season one and has grown every summer.
Expect him to be dangerous on the attack against an AMSG defense that has struggled to stop the best of the best.
Final Notes:
Following this match, Redlands will have four consecutive home games, so finishing off the road trip with one last win this weekend is extremely important.
Kick off is set for 7 PM and the game will be live streamed on Sports Engine. Redlands will then return home on June 19th against Capo FC for what could be a battle of two top three teams.
