Redlands FC falls to City SC in season finale

Redlands FC needed a win on their final matchday to keep their season alive for at least 24 more hours and have a chance at a playoff spot. However, City SC had other ideas, as they dominated Redlands en route to a 3-0 win, officially eliminating RFC from playoff contention.

The beginning of the game featured City SC dominating possession and building up their attack slowly and methodically. Redlands did have a couple of counter attack chances, but only got one shot on goal that was punched over the bar.

However, despite lacking possession and giving the ball away at a high rate, Redlands looked like they were going to survive the first half without conceding. That was until the 45th minute when City SC chipped one over Redlands starting keeper Miguel Hernandez to make it 1-0 going into the locker room.

Any chance of a momentum shift in the second half was silenced quickly, as within the second minute of the half City SC made it 2-0. Later on, they made it 3-0. Redlands never had a chance to sustain any sort of attack, and that is how the match and the season ended.

Redlands finishes the season with 6 wins, 2 draws, and 4 losses. Their 21 points in 12 games lands them a 5th place finish in the 9 team Southwest Division. They end the season ranked 3rd in the division in goals scored with 40 and 6th in goals allowed with 19. The 3-0 loss to end the season was their largest margin of defeat and only shut out suffered.

On behalf of Redlands FC, thank you to all the fans who supported the club all summer long. Good luck to the RFC players during their upcoming fall college soccer seasons, and Redlands will return for season 4 in the summer of 2026.
