Student math scores are abysmal. A new California law requires early testing for skill
A new math test will assess basic math skills for all K-2 students to help identify those who are struggling.
Survey responses will help shape an October report examining hiring challenges, job seeker priorities and employment barriers in Redlands.
REDLANDS, Calif. — The Redlands Chamber of Commerce is asking local employers and job seekers to share their experiences with the Redlands job market as part of a new study examining hiring challenges, employment barriers and what workers are looking for in local jobs.
Why it matters: The survey is intended to provide localized firsthand information about what is — and isn't — working in the Redlands labor market.
Survey details: The chamber is conducting the 2026 Redlands Chamber Job Market Report with assistance from Hello Hired. Employers and job seekers have until Oct. 9 to complete an online survey.
For employers, the study will examine hiring obstacles and how those challenges have changed over the past year. Job seekers will be asked about their employment priorities and barriers to finding work in Redlands.
The online survey contains 23 questions and takes about three to five minutes to complete, according to the survey information. Responses are confidential, and participants will receive access to the results. Participants can also enter for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card.
The findings will be combined with industry data to create a broader snapshot of Redlands' business environment and local hiring trends. The report will also include case studies highlighting local employers' experiences, hiring strategies and outcomes.
The report is expected to be released in October.
What they’re saying: One goal of the survey and market report is to give Chamber members a better understanding of the local job market and the challenges facing employers and job seekers.
“We are working to build a pipeline of talent beginning with job seekers from our local high schools and up. Through our job portal and hiring events, we are bridging the gap,” said Evan Sanford, CEO of the Redlands Chamber of Commerce. “This initiative is another tool in our toolbox, and because it features our members as case studies, there are new ways for us to learn about what isn’t working and promote what is.”
Randy Nordgren of Hello Hired said he hopes the survey will identify gaps between what local employers need and what job seekers are looking for.
“We want the report that comes out of the study to be practical — giving Redlands employers real tactics and strategies they can use to attract better candidates, improve their hiring, and ultimately help bridge those gaps,” Nordgren said.
How to participate: Employers and job seekers with experience in the Redlands job market can complete the survey through Oct. 9 at Redlands Job Market Survey.
