Redlands, along with other Inland Empire cities, had voiced strong opposition to the amendments.
The longest continuously running summer music festival where no admission is charged returns June 20
Redlands, Calif. – The Redlands Bowl Performing Arts opens its 102nd season on Friday, June 20, offering two free performances each week through mid-August as part of the longest continuously running summer music festival in the United States where no admission is charged.
The 2025 concert lineup features 20 world-class performances on Tuesday and Friday evenings at Smiley Park, with additional shows on select dates. Audiences can expect a mix of tribute acts, patriotic pops, ballet, mariachi, swing, and Broadway classics.
Performances begin at 8 p.m., and guests are encouraged to arrive early with lawn chairs or picnic dinners. Seating is first-come, first-served, and a free-will offering is collected at intermission.
The Redlands City Council on June 3 authorized the use of city resources to support the 2025 Summer Music Festival, approving an estimated $42,275.78 in in-kind services. This includes police staffing, equipment and costs associated with street closures and public safety measures. The city’s support reflects its longstanding partnership with Redlands Bowl Performing Arts, a local nonprofit that holds an exclusive lease to use the Bowl during summer months.
The festival is expected to attract approximately 100,000 visitors over the course of 20 concerts, featuring more than 300 musicians. As in previous years, Eureka Street between Vine and Olive, and a portion of Grant Street near the Joslyn Senior Center, will close on show nights from 4 to 10 p.m. Fireworks displays are scheduled for July 3 and the final night on August 15.
The amphitheater is at 25 Grant St. in Smiley Park.
