The Redlands Bicycle Classic is inviting cyclists to test themselves on the same historic roads that have shaped champions for more than four decades.

The 2026 Legends’ Fondo, presented by Hospitality Dental and Orthodontics as part of the Redlands Bicycle Classic presented by SERVPRO Team Jeffrey Padgett, will take place Saturday, April 11 at 8 a.m. Riders will start in downtown Redlands and choose from four routes that follow some of the race’s most iconic terrain.

For more than 40 years, the Redlands Bicycle Classic has carried the mantra “Where Legends Are Born.” Olympic champions, national champions and professional teams have raced on the event’s demanding courses, including the well-known Sunset Loop, the steep climb to Oak Glen, and the challenging Walnut circuit, which includes a gravel section that has tested elite riders.

The Legends’ Fondo gives amateur cyclists the chance to experience those same roads.

Participants can choose from three challenging Fondo routes — 40, 52 or 67 miles — or opt for a more relaxed 15-mile Taste of Redlands ride.

All Fondo routes begin with a lap on the event’s distinctive eight-turn figure-8 criterium circuit before heading toward several of the race’s signature climbs. Riders will tackle Sunset Drive, a climb that has appeared in every edition of the Classic and is a staple of local training rides. The route then moves through the demanding Walnut circuit, including the race’s historic gravel section.

From there, cyclists can decide how far to push themselves.

Some riders will head back toward downtown Redlands, while others can extend their ride with an additional climb toward Yucaipa. The most ambitious riders can continue to Oak Glen, reaching roughly 5,700 feet of elevation gain on a route that has tested many professional cyclists over the years.

After completing the ride, participants return to downtown Redlands, where they can relax at the Vendor Village, enjoy food and drinks, and watch elite professional racers compete on the same streets that started their ride.

For those looking for a more leisurely experience, the Taste of Redlands ride offers a 15-mile scenic route through the city. The course passes landmarks such as the University of Redlands, the Redlands LDS Temple, and several historic Victorian homes.

Registration for the Legends’ Fondo includes rest-stop food, vehicle support, a $10 voucher for the Vendor Village, a finisher’s medal, a $10 Cyclery USA gift card, and complimentary bicycle valet service.

Early-bird pricing is available through March 14. Riders can also receive additional savings by participating in both the Fondo and the USA Cycling criterium race.

Registration and additional details are available through the Redlands Bicycle Classic.
