Inland Empire United wins Las Vegas tourney

The Redlands 909ers team won their Aussie Ball series against the Aussie Expos three games to two.
The 909ers, after splitting the first two games, lost the third 8-3. The game was the first of a doubleheader at Arrowhead Christian Academy.
Redlands won the nightcap of the doubleheader at ACA 8-1 over the Expos.
The 909ers then captured the series on Saturday at the University of Redlands with a 1-0 win against the Aussies.
Beyond the wins and losses, the international showdown was a well-played, closely contested success.
“It was a raging success at every level,” said Richie Burgess, the new president of the Australian Baseball Tour of Redlands. “We are already looking forward to next year’s tour.”
Redlands scored its only run in Game 5 in the third inning. Connor Flanigan started things for the 909ers with a two-out single. Brayden Bennett followed with a single to left field. Eyam Eldivik then singled to left field to drive in Flanigan.
Bennett pitched six innings for Redlands, allowing three hits and striking out seven while walking five. Ethan Snellings pitched a no-hit inning.
Bennett, Eldivik, and Flanigan had one hit each for Redlands.
Lachlan O’Sullivan pitched 5 1/3 innings for the Expos, allowing three hits and one run while striking out five and walking one. Cormac Boggiss pitched one no-hit inning for the Aussies.
O’Sullivan, Oliver Pickford, and Bailey Russell each had a hit for the Aussies.
