REDLANDS, Calif. — A woman was struck and killed early Thursday morning, Feb. 12, while walking on Alabama Street near Orange Avenue, according to the Redlands Police Department.

Police and paramedics responded after the woman was hit from behind by a southbound vehicle while walking in a dark area in the southbound lane of Alabama Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said there was no indication of impairment by drugs or alcohol.

The incident remains under investigation.

The death marks the city’s fourth pedestrian fatality in the past six months.

In October 2025, an 85-year old woman was hit and killed while crossing Cypress Avenue near Alvarado Street. In September, a 38-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run near Industrial Park Drive and in August a 67-year-old woman died after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing Lugonia Avenue near the Redlands Senior Center.
