REDLANDS — A free community event this month will examine biodiversity in the Inland Empire and what residents can do to help protect local ecosystems.
Accelerate Neighborhood Climate Action (ANCA) Redlands will host a panel discussion titled
“Ecosystems in Peril: What’s vanishing and why? Exploring biodiversity in the Inland Empire” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at the Flores Senior Center (111 W. Lugonia Ave).
Part of ANCA’s Resilient Living: Facing Challenges Together educational series, the event will feature local experts discussing the global loss of biodiversity and its impacts closer to home. Panelists will also highlight lesser-known ecological features of the Inland Empire and share practical ways residents can help protect the region’s natural environment.
Organizers say the conversation will focus on how biodiversity affects daily life and why protecting ecosystems matters for the health of communities and the planet.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can register through Eventbrite or walk in on the evening of the event.
The event is sponsored by the city of Redlands and University of Redlands Sustainability Council.
