REDLANDS, Calif. — Community leaders and families gathered Oct. 8 at the Boys & Girls Club in Redlands to dedicate a new $150,000 playground designed to give local youth more opportunities for play, movement and connection.
Children tested the colorful equipment as the club hosted a ribbon cutting that recognized partners who helped fund and build the project, including San Bernardino County Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe, the Rochford Foundation and the Optimist Club of Redlands. Mayor Mario Saucedo attended and presented a city proclamation.
The playground was built in partnership with the Redlands Unified School District.
“This playground represents what can happen when our community comes together to invest in our kids,” Michael Wells, chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands–Riverside, said in a statement. “It’s not just a play structure — it’s a place where children can be active, make friends, and feel a sense of belonging every single day.”

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands–Riverside, the largest club organization in the Inland Empire, said the new space supports its mission to provide safe, supportive environments where youth can learn, grow and thrive.
