Man found with loaded gun outside Redlands club

REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands police arrested multiple individuals over the past week in cases involving firearms, suspected DUI and a disturbance that ended with a suspect jumping into a police vehicle.

Man Found With Loaded Gun After Altercation at Gentleman’s Club

Officers arrested a man early Wednesday morning, June 4, after he was found waiting in a vehicle with a loaded firearm outside The Library Gentleman’s Club at 1331 W. Colton Ave. Police said the man had been involved in an altercation inside the club and was asked to leave by staff.

When officers arrived, the suspect was parked in a way that blocked multiple parking stalls and had a clear view of the club’s exit doors. Police said the man was under the influence of alcohol and had an open container in the vehicle. A loaded 9mm handgun was found in the center console. He was taken into custody.

Teen Alerts Family About Intoxicated Driver

Late Saturday night, May 31, a man was arrested after his teenage daughter texted family members saying he was intoxicated while driving. Officers located the vehicle near Cajon Street and Cypress Avenue and found the man and his daughter inside.

The driver, who is on probation and has multiple prior DUI convictions, was arrested for DUI and child endangerment. The teen’s mother was contacted and arrived at the scene to take custody of her daughter.

Pursuit Ends After Suspect Jumps Into Police Car

Police responded to reports of a suspicious person possibly under the influence of drugs near Dearborn Street and Independence Avenue on Saturday morning, May 31. When officers arrived, the man fled on foot, jumping over several fences.

He damaged a residential fence on Coral Street before being located hiding behind a bush near Ford Street and East Citrus Avenue. When confronted, the man ran into an intersection and intentionally jumped into the side of a police vehicle, causing damage and ending the pursuit.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation.

Driver Flees Crash, Denies Being Behind the Wheel

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, police arrested a woman for DUI after she was found walking away from a crash near Colton Avenue and Grove Street. The woman denied being the driver and claimed she was walking home from a bar in Mentone.

Officers noted she had seat belt markings on her neck and chest consistent with a recent crash. A witness also identified her as the driver. She had a suspended license due to a previous DUI conviction and was taken into custody.
