The Rochford Foundation’s annual “A Burrage Christmas” will feature a Toyland display, live entertainment and gifts for registered children.
REDLANDS, Calif. — The Burrage Mansion will again transform into a holiday spectacle this season as the Rochford Foundation prepares to host its sixth annual “A Burrage Christmas” on Dec. 14.
The mansion’s front lawn will be decorated in a Toyland theme beginning Dec. 2, featuring thousands of lights, snowmen, oversized snowflakes, a life-sized train, nativity scene and other holiday displays. The historic Redlands property at 1205 W. Crescent Ave. is also home to a 70-foot Christmas tree visible from across town.
The drive-through event on Dec. 14 is free for residents who pre-register and will run from 5 to 9 p.m. The evening will open with a parade of decorated vehicles carrying children and families from Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital at 5:15 p.m.
Live characters, a live nativity, and appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus will line the route, along with entertainment by the Kalama Brothers, the Grove Jazz Band and a saxophonist. Drivers will travel through a lighted tunnel before reaching the featured displays. Each registered family will receive a stocking with the 2025 ornament and candy canes.
“This tradition started during the pandemic and every year it’s expanded with more characters and more lights,” Rochford Foundation founder Tim Rochford said. “This year, one of the characters will be Clarence on a bench from It’s a Wonderful Life with the movie playing behind him. We are also thrilled for children from Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital to start the parade.”
Registration opens Dec. 10 on the Rochford Foundation’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
The Rochford Foundation operates the Burrage Mansion as a sanctuary dedicated to the well-being and happiness of children in need.
