Hatfields donate new vehicle to Family Service Association of Redlands

REDLANDS, Calif. — Family Service Association of Redlands has received a new vehicle funded by Bill and Lori Hatfield, owners of Hatfield Buick GMC, to support the nonprofit’s expanding social service programs.

The 2026 Buick Envista will be used by Family Service staff for housing inspections, meetings with community partners and other work serving clients throughout the East and Central Valley regions of San Bernardino County, according to the organization.

“As our agency continues to grow, transportation has become an increasingly important part of how we deliver services,” Executive Director Kyra Stewart said in a statement. “Their generosity will help us better serve families and respond more effectively to the needs of those who rely on our services every day. We are incredibly grateful for their longstanding support and partnership.”

The Hatfields personally provided funding for the vehicle after Family Service Board Vice President Carol Snodgress shared the organization’s transportation needs with them.

Hatfield Buick GMC, established in 1913, is one of California’s oldest family-owned automotive dealerships. Four generations of the Hatfield family have operated the Redlands business, which has a long history of local philanthropy and community involvement.

The donation continues a relationship between the Hatfields and Family Service that spans more than a decade. In 2015, Hatfield Buick GMC donated a used truck that remains in service for pickups and client support, according to the nonprofit. Lori Hatfield also served as president of the Family Service Board of Directors from 2021 to 2023.

With the new Envista, Family Service now has two dedicated vehicles supporting its programs.

“Family Service has been an important part of this city for generations,” Bill and Lori Hatfield said in a statement. “We understand that as organizations grow, their needs evolve. We were honored to provide funding for this vehicle because we believe in the mission of Family Service and the difference it makes in the lives of families facing hardship.”

Founded in 1898, Family Service Association of Redlands provides housing assistance, food, clothing and other support services to families in need. In 2025, the nonprofit served 10,034 individuals across 3,072 families, according to its annual report.
