Ethin Bingamin has been on a roll the past three years. The former Arrowhead Christian Academy two-way baseball player achieved a lot during his final two years of high school, playing for the Eagles as a junior and for CIF Southern Section powerhouse Corona High as a senior.

He also found time to play on the USA Baseball Under-18 national team, which won gold at the World Cup Americas qualifier, as well as participate in the Perfect Game Underclass All-America Games and the 2024 Perfect Game All-America Classic.

In his senior year at Corona, he was ranked the No. 150 overall prospect by Major League Baseball (MLB.com) and No. 90 by Baseball America. Following his strong efforts at ACA and Corona, Bingamin was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 20th round of the 2025 MLB Amateur Draft.

He passed on the Diamondbacks and signed with Auburn University in Alabama and was ranked among the top six freshmen in the Division I Southeastern Conference (SEC).

On Friday, Bingamin will take the field for the Tigers as their first baseman when they face the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in the first game of the NCAA Division I Central Super Regional at Plainsman Park in Auburn, Alabama.

The winner of the best-of-three series advances to the NCAA World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, later this month. The Auburn-Ole Miss game will be aired on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. PDT.

Bingamin enters the game with his team boasting a 42-20 overall record and a 17-13 mark in the SEC. The Tigers reached the SEC conference semifinals before losing to Arkansas 2-1. They then lost to Milwaukee College 13-8 in their regional opener, then battled back through four elimination games to beat Milwaukee in the regional title game, 8-3.

Entering Friday's game, Bingamin is batting .334 in 58 games with 69 hits in 208 at-bats and has scored 59 runs. He has nine doubles, 15 home runs and 50 runs batted in with a .597 slugging percentage, 28 walks and has been hit by pitches four times.

In the field, he has been nearly flawless with just three errors in 343 chances (.991 fielding percentage) and has been involved in 27 double plays while accumulating 18 assists.

Arrowhead Christian was blessed to have Bingamin as a pitcher and position player. In 2024, the 5-foot-11, 200-pounder batted .506 with seven homers, nine doubles and a triple among his 43 hits. He scored 31 runs and had an .882 slugging percentage.

As a pitcher, he was 4-4 on the mound but posted a 1.87 earned run average in 13 appearances covering 52 innings with 98 strikeouts. The Eagles were 19-9 overall and 9-3 in the Ambassador League.

At Corona High in 2025, his play for the Panthers contributed to their 28-3 season and 14-1 championship run in the Big VII League. He batted .336 with 36 hits, 32 runs scored and 32 RBI, along with 12 doubles, two triples and six home runs.

On the mound, he appeared in 10 games, posting a 7-2 record in 49 innings, allowing just seven earned runs and striking out 79 batters. Opposing batters hit a collective .195 against him.

Bingamin wasn't the only Corona player selected in the MLB amateur draft last year. Corona became the first high school in MLB draft history to have three seniors selected in the top 50 picks:

  • Pitcher Seth Hernandez (No. 6 by Pittsburgh)
  • Shortstop Billy Carlson (No. 10 by the Chicago White Sox)
  • Brady Ebel, son of Los Angeles Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel (No. 32 by the Milwaukee Brewers)

Bingamin is the son of Amanda and Dustin Bingamin of Redlands and has three siblings: Landin, Amelia and Victoria.
