Weekly certified farmers market resumes Saturdays near Ed Hales Park with more than 30 vendors offering produce, food, handmade goods and entertainment.
REDLANDS, Calif. — The city of Redlands’ Downtown Morning Market will return Saturday after its annual winter break, bringing local produce, food vendors and artisan goods back to a municipal parking lot near Ed Hales Park.
The weekly certified farmers market is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays in the municipal parking lot off Redlands Boulevard between Fifth and Sixth streets, near the historic downtown area of East State Street.
The market features more than 30 local growers, bakers, artisans, entertainers and vendors offering fresh produce, specialty foods, handmade goods and family-friendly activities.
The market closed for its annual winter hiatus following its Nov. 22 event. During the break, vendors were encouraged to participate in another certified farmers market held Saturday mornings at The Grove School.
City staff also surveyed nearby downtown businesses to evaluate the market’s impact.
According to the city, just over half of nearby businesses reported the market had no impact on their operations, while about one-third said it had a positive effect, including increased visibility and customer traffic.
City staff said they will continue evaluating market operations to ensure it serves residents, visitors, vendors and nearby businesses.
The market is open to certified farmers, food vendors, artisan vendors, activity and entertainment vendors, and cottage food vendors. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. More information here.
