David John Card, 71, known for capturing Redlands through his lens
Devoted husband, father and grandfather remembered for his faith, service, and photography.

The following obituary was submitted by the family of David John Card.
David John Card, 71, of San Bernardino, California, passed away peacefully at St. Bernardine’s Hospital on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 8:28 a.m., surrounded by family.
Dave was born on March 20, 1954, in Wales, United Kingdom, to Bertram and Betty Card. The eldest son of a pastor, he carried his faith deeply throughout his life. After moving to California, he graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto and later earned his Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Valley College. Dave worked for many years in the title industry before discovering and embracing his true passion: photography.
A devoted Christian, Dave was a faithful member of Redeemer Fellowship Church. He served the online church community as a service transcriber, built the website for Calvary Chapel Red Barn in San Bernardino, and joyfully shared his musical gifts as a percussionist and worship team member. His life was marked by service, creativity, and faith.
Photography became Dave’s calling, and his natural talent allowed him to capture the beauty of everyday life. His work was often featured on the front page of the Redlands Community News, and family and friends remember him as the man always behind the camera at birthdays, baseball games, weddings and every milestone in between.
Beyond photography, Dave was an enthusiastic sports fan, cheering passionately for the LA Kings, Ontario Reign, San Diego Padres, Chargers, NASCAR, and Formula 1 racing.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife, June Marie Card; his children Bryan (Athena) Laroche of Highland, CA; Sarah (Ryan) Williams of Highland, CA; and Bradley (Lee-Stroud) Laroche of Fenton, MO. He was a proud grandfather to Alexis Laroche-Peters, Austin Laroche, Ashley Williams, Ryenn Williams, Emma-Lee Laroche, Parker Laroche, Aidan Mears, Ivan Medina, Alijah Medina, and Josiah Monge. He is survived by his sister Kathy (Bill) Card-Goodban of Wrightwood, CA, and his brothers Michael “Pete” Card of Kansas; and Barry (RaNae) Card of Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertram and Betty Card, and his younger brother, Tony Card.
Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dave’s honor to Redeemer Fellowship Church and the American Cancer Society.
Dave will be remembered as a man of faith, family, and passion — a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the moments he captured through the lens of his camera.
